Our Story
J&P Technologies was established in 1997 to provide system engineering and software development contract services for the aerospace industry.
We employ highly-trained professionals who have experience in developing, integrating, delivering, and sustaining major systems in complex environments, and are intimately familiar with hardware and software requirements analysis, systems development and delivery processes, as well as operational support requirements.
Certifications include Small Disadvantaged Business (SBD) [Native American Owned], Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), Economically Disadvantaged Women Owned Business (EDWOSB), and Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB).


President – Jennifer Lewis
Jennifer Lewis, founded the company in 1997, providing software consulting services for five years before hiring her first employee in 2002. In 2010, the U.S Small Business Administration recognized her achievements by selecting her as their Small Business Person of the Year (Houston District).
Prior to founding the company, Ms. Lewis worked for 15 years in the aerospace industry and 5 years in the commercial biomedical industry where she developed expertise in software design/development, system architecture, and system integration.
Major aerospace projects included JSC’s Mission Control Center Upgrade (MCCU), Air Force Traffic Switch Control System (TSCS), and JSC’s Consolidated Communications Facility (CCF). CCF replaced all existing front-end telemetry and command systems at JSC’s Mission Control Center with the goal of reducing sustaining and operations costs at JSC. Ms. Lewis was the Software Architect and Integration/Delivery Lead and received the Silver Snoopy Award for her efforts on the project. While working in the commercial biomedical industry, Ms. Lewis developed an automated chromosome analysis system, as well as provided technical support to sales personnel.
Program Manager – Phil Lewis
Phil Lewis, is an accomplished professional with 40 years of comprehensive large-scale management and engineering experience in very diversified projects and programs. He joined J&P in 2006 as the company Program Manager and Chief Engineer. As Program Manager, he is responsible for management and technical oversight of J&P engineers, assuring the quality of all technical activities performed by the company, including the development of engineering processes. As Chief Engineer, Mr. Lewis has acted as Manager for Systems Engineering supporting the Orbital Space Plane Project, Deputy Department Manager / Principal Engineer International Space Station Program, Deputy Department Manager / Principal Engineer Space Shuttle Program, and Chief Engineer to the Constellation Program Safety Technical Authority. He currently supports the Safety & Mission Assurance Engineering Contract (SMAEC) as the Gateway S&MA Lead.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Lewis worked 24 years supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and the aerospace industry, performing allocation and decomposition of program and project level requirements, product development, design, manufacturing and system integration of military aircraft and space flight hardware. Expertise as an engineering analyst includes structural/stress analysis, thermal, fluid flow, and control system analysis, including transient phenomena, as well as Safety and Mission Assurance analyses such as the development and approval of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Critical Item Lists (CIL), Logistic Source Analysis Reports (LSAR), Flight Rules, Operations Procedures, Fault Trees, and Hazard Reports/Analysis.
